The Pantazopoulos Collection
The Pantazopoulos Collection is a dedicated stereoscopic photography collection containing the largest volume of stereoviews from Greece. It brings together historic three-dimensional images that preserve the landscapes, cities, monuments, villages, people, and everyday life of Greece as they were captured through the unique depth and realism of stereoscopic photography.
The collection was created by Vasilis Pantazopoulos, whose passion for stereoscopy began at the age of ten. Since childhood, he has been fascinated by the ability of stereoscopic images to make the past feel present, allowing viewers not only to see a photograph, but to experience its depth, space, and atmosphere. This early interest grew into a lifelong dedication to collecting, preserving, studying, and photographing in stereoscopic form.
Through The Pantazopoulos Collection, Vasilis Pantazopoulos aims to safeguard an important visual record of Greece and make stereoscopic photography more accessible to collectors, researchers, historians, and the wider public. The collection is not only an archive of rare images, but also a tribute to the art, history, and enduring magic of seeing the world in three dimensions.
